The Red Sea is world-renowned as an excellent SCUBA diving destination. The reefs and wrecks provide plenty of interest for both beginner and experienced divers. Cornetfish are a species of fish found in the Red Sea. Their body is extremely elongated and they have a adistinctive snout. Cornetfish feed on smaller fish and invertebrates.
Cornetfish frequently accompanied me when I was diving in Ras Mohammed National Park. They are famously poor predators and are known to frequently swim behind the heads of divers, using it as a hiding place. When I approached close to a small fish a cornetfish would sometimes shoot out from behind me, ambush the fish and try to catch it.
